About The Team

We build integrations for external financial platforms and develop the core infrastructure for Financial Data Reconciliation at Pliant. Leveraging cloud-native data processing systems, OCR and AI to transform complex financial data into accurate, predictive, and valuable insights for our customers. Our mission is to structure the chaos by designing standardized, concise, scalable API Interfaces. We’re a distributed team with a strong focus on precision and a shared drive to advance our domain through AI.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Software Engineer - Backend - Integrations EU/UK remote (m/f/d). As part of the Engineering department, you will join one of our cross-functional teams of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and designers.

You will be playing a key role in delivering innovative features paired with a great user experience to our business customers. For this purpose, you have good attention to detail and don’t just work on code but bring a product to life!

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conceptualize, define and develop our banking platform

Ensure a scalable, maintainable, and secure microservice architecture

Design and evolve RESTful APIs that power both our own products and partner integrations

Contribute to architectural decisions and technical RFCs across the engineering group

Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers in a cross-functional team

Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of production services

Implement unit, integration and E2E tests

Participate in our compensated on-call rotation to support production systems (optional)

Contribute to our hiring process as an interviewer (optional)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Expertise in building testable, maintainable, and extendable architecture

Obsession with the best engineering practices

Knowledge of distributed architecture patterns and antipatterns

5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot

Proficiency with REST APIs

Proficiency with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)

Great automation testing skills

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

Experience in building scalable integrations to other financial platforms
