Senior Tax & Accounting Team Manager

Gheen & Co., CPA is looking for a Senior Tax & Accounting Manager (Fully Remote, 5 years of tax and accounting experience minimum) - to assist in delivering services to our growing client base.

This position is a full-time role Monday - Friday 9 AM-5 PM. Depending on your time zone this timeframe can be adjusted. Fully remote, working from home.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Managing your team by the numbers: ensuring your team is working efficiently and effectively to keep the tax and accounting workflow on track, with a high level of quality.


• Managing the tax compliance affairs for the team's client base: reviewing tax returns, bookkeeping, project work and more.


• Working with other tax managers in the company to develop standard operating procedures and recommend improvements


• Occasionally join client calls to help the client manager explain tax concepts to their clients


• Training yourself and your team on tax concepts through internal and external training, to ensure continual improvement

Our ideal candidate has:

• A sense of urgency about continual professional improvement and working with excellence


• A desire to stay and grow in an excellent firm long-term


• Minimum of 5 years experience in US SMB Tax & Accounting. This is not a role for someone relatively new to tax


• Experience managing teams, and reviewing work across various industries


• Strong financial interpretation skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to your staff


• Positive, energetic, and eager to help the team deliver value to clients


• Ability to learn multiple modern software apps that we use internally (we provide training)


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to prioritize tasks for yourself and others in a highly organized manner


• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification a huge plus!
