About the position
The Senior Sustainability Reporting Lead is responsible for owning and directing Vanguard’s global sustainability reporting strategy. This role oversees the design, governance, and enterprise-wide implementation of sustainability reporting frameworks and ensures consistent, accurate, and compliant reporting across all entities. The position requires a strong command of sustainability regulatory developments, significant judgment, and leadership in coordinating efforts across multiple business areas.
- Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise sustainability reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Vanguard objectives.
- Establish and maintain sustainability reporting governance, policies, and quality control protocols across the organization.
- Interpret new and emerging sustainability disclosure requirements and oversee enterprise-wide implementation.
- Lead cross-functional working groups to drive consistent reporting processes across business lines and legal entities.
- Present key findings and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Oversee preparation of global sustainability reporting, including regulatory filings and voluntary disclosures.
- Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes, systems, and controls.
- Informally supervise and review work prepared by the Sustainability Reporting Lead
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MS/MBA strongly preferred.
- 7–10+ years of relevant sustainability, financial, or regulatory reporting experience.
- Experience leading complex enterprise-level reporting initiatives.
- Strong understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks (ISSB, TCFD, etc.).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management/leadership skills.
- Experience collaborating with executives and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with reporting or analytics platforms.
