TechTorch | U.S. Remote | Full-Time
At TechTorch, we're a bunch of non-conformists who believe the way technology consulting works today is fundamentally broken – and we've set out to redefine it. We combine the speed of a startup with the rigor demanded by the world's most sophisticated clients, delivering AI-powered solutions that create measurable impact. Our leadership team brings deep roots in top-tier consulting as well as operator experience at Fortune 500 companies such as Cisco and Nike. Bootstrapped and profitable, we are growing fast and we're just getting started.

ABOUT THE ROLE
TechTorch is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to serve as a hands-on execution layer within our technology operations team. This individual will work under the direction of senior technical staff who define architecture and policy, translating those directives into reliable, compliant day-to-day IT operations.
The ideal candidate thrives in structured but fast-moving engineering environments, is deeply fluent in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration, and brings a proactive, AI-augmented approach to IT operations. You will not be designing the strategy - you will be the person who makes it real, consistently and correctly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Administration
Administer and maintain TechTorch environments across Google Workspace (user lifecycle, groups, Drive policies, Vault, Meet, security settings) and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID/Azure AD)

Administer and support business applications (for example, QBO, Asana, etc.) and other SaaS tools as directed

Serve as the primary remote help desk resource for end users across the organization

Endpoint Support
Provide endpoint support across ChromeOS, Windows, and macOS devices

Manage device enrollment, configuration, and policy enforcement via MDM platforms (Google Admin, Intune, or equivalent)

Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application issues remotely with minimal escalation

Compliance & Policy Execution
Execute technology controls and configurations in alignment with CMMC/NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 requirements

Implement and enforce access controls, audit logging, data handling policies, and security configurations as defined by senior staff

Support audit readiness activities including evidence collection, policy documentation, and control testing

Add or modify system capabilities to address evolving compliance requirements, implementing the solution rather than defining it

AI-Augmented Operations
Actively apply AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Gemini) to streamline IT workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate troubleshooting

Stay current on how AI is reshaping IT operations and bring practical applications to the team

Engineering Environment Support
Support IT needs within an engineering-oriented organization that operates across a connected digital thread of tools and data

Quickly learn and adapt to specialized tools and workflows used by engineering teams without requiring deep domain expertise

Maintain awareness of how IT infrastructure intersects with engineering processes, data flows, and toolchains

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5-8 years of hands-on IT administration experience in a product engineering and manufacturing environment

Expert-level Google Workspace administration (Users, Groups, Drive, Security, Vault, Admin Console)

Proficient Microsoft 365 tenant administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID)

Demonstrated endpoint support experience across ChromeOS, Windows, and macOS

Familiarity with CMMC/NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and/or SOC 2 control implementation

Experience administering SaaS tools (for example, QBO, Asana, etc.)

Strong remote help desk and user support skills; able to resolve issues efficiently without in-person access

Comfortable working in a task-execution role where architecture and policy decisions are made upstream

Familiarity with the use of AI tools to improve personal productivity and IT operations

U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting engineering teams or organizations with an engineering-oriented digital thread

Familiarity with MDM policy enforcement and endpoint compliance tooling

Exposure to GRC tools or compliance management platforms

Experience in a startup, growth-stage, or lean IT environment where adaptability is essential

Google Workspace Administrator or Microsoft 365 certifications (not required but a plus)

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In the first 90 days, you will have a firm handle on our Workspace and M365 environments, be resolving help desk tickets independently, and be executing compliance-driven configuration tasks with minimal rework. Within six months, you will be a trusted extension of our senior tech team - someone they can hand a task to and know it is done right, on time, and documented.
