We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Governance and Operations team within the Exploration, Insights, and Experiences division. Position Overview
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing predictive models and unified insights that drive engagement across our extensive television portfolio. Your modeling work will primarily support viewership prediction—collaborating with addressable pricing teams within Exploration, Insights, and Estimation—to optimize advertising sales revenue and support the DTCI P&L for digital initiatives.
This role demands a self-starter who thrives on writing code and diving into data with creativity and efficiency. You'll manage end-to-end projects spanning ETL, predictive modeling, data visualization, and BI reporting while building strong relationships across various segments and stakeholders through effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality and Management
- Interpret raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights for data-driven decision-making through automated ETL pipelines
- Serve as a subject matter expert on internal and external data sources, ensuring data integrity and reliability as a trusted source of truth
- Identify and raise data irregularities while developing creative workarounds to maintain data quality
- Design and implement robust data governance frameworks that scale with business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data standards and best practices
Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning
- Design and develop new predictive models using statistical and AI techniques to forecast and project customer engagement across arenaflex platforms
- Model various KPIs including viewership, engagement time, content consumption patterns, and subscriber retention
- Analyze drivers of change when interpreting forecasts and implement improvements to enhance prediction accuracy
- Develop and deploy machine learning models at scale using cutting-edge techniques
- Continuously evaluate model performance and iterate on solutions to improve outcomes
Business Intelligence and Visualization
- Build visualizations and interfaces to communicate results to business stakeholders in an accessible, sustainable, and automated manner
- Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create a common understanding of digital media consumption
- Develop executive-level dashboards and reports that drive strategic decision-making
- Translate technical findings into business actionable insights for non-technical audiences
- Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate analytics into core platform features
Leadership and Collaboration
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, primarily the addressable pricing teams within Exploration, Insights, and Estimation, to identify opportunities and drive value
- Collaborate with other data teams to improve capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, and data visualization
- Mentor junior team members and serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the analytics community
- Represent the data science perspective in cross-functional product and strategy meetings
Process Innovation
- Drive innovation by exploring new statistical methods and brainstorming ways to enhance the current forecasting and reporting infrastructure
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools that can advance analytical capabilities
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data science at arenaflex
Operations and Agile Practices
- Apply Agile principles through participation in standups, sprint planning, writing business requirements documents, and retrospectives
- Contribute to an "Open Source" learning environment where sharing, documenting, teaching, and collaborating with others is the culture
- Maintain thorough documentation of models, pipelines, and analytical methodologies
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, predictive analytics, or business intelligence
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline is a plus
Technical Skills
- Programming Expertise: High proficiency in SQL and Python (including libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) for data analysis, manipulation, and modeling
- Data Engineering: Experience with ETL, data pipeline management, and cloud infrastructure for handling large volumes of data (e.g., AWS, PySpark, Snowflake, Airflow, Databricks)
- Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms)
- Machine Learning: Experience designing and implementing predictive models including generalized linear models, time series analysis, decision trees, and ensemble methods
- Version Control: Experience working with Git for collaborative development
- Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks and big data ecosystems

- Experience with streaming data processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark Streaming)
- Background in media, entertainment, or streaming industry analytics
- Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and experimental design
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines
