About the Role

As a Senior Data Science Analyst at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments that drive our recommendation engine forward. What You'll Do

• Lead Exploratory Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns, identify emerging trends, and discover novel opportunities for improving our recommendation systems. Use clustering and segmentation techniques to generate actionable insights that inform our product roadmap.


• Design and Execute A/B Tests: Design, run, and analyze the results of rigorous A/B testing experiments for new recommendation algorithms and strategies. Develop innovative testing and test analysis techniques that set industry standards for experimental rigor.


• KPI Reporting and Monitoring: Establish robust KPI reporting and monitoring frameworks, including anomaly detection tools and advanced measurement approaches. Proactively identify performance deviations and drive corrective actions.


• Build Automated Tools: Develop and maintain in-house automated tools that enhance team productivity and efficiency. Create QA tools to better understand the performance of new algorithms before deploying them to production A/B tests.


• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product, engineering, and AI partners to build productive relationships and ensure alignment on strategic initiatives. Translate complex technical findings into clear business recommendations.


• Present Insights to Leadership: Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization. Develop compelling narratives that drive strategic decision-making.


• Model Monitoring and Optimization: Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and implement resolutions. Ensure model performance meets business objectives.

What You'll Need

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative discipline. Master's degree preferred.


• Industry Experience: Strong analytical or Data Science experience with e-commerce companies is highly preferred.


• Technical Proficiency: In-depth experience with SQL, including complex query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, and platforms such as Vertica, Hive, or similar systems.


• Programming Skills: In-depth experience with Python and Python tools including Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and other data science libraries.


• Experimental Design: Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making is highly preferred.


• Machine Learning Knowledge: Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms and techniques such as decision trees, random forests, deep learning within a business setting is highly preferred.


• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach and highly cooperative attitude.


• Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate and proactively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
