Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Construction Manager in our Construction Mangement department. This role will be responsible for field construction oversight of power generation projects.

Responsibilities

Manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple contractor crews simultaneously.

Facilitates the replacement and/or installation of electric infrastructure equipment and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications, and governmental regulations are met.

Work with all stakeholders including third party consultants, contractors, and client management to maintain construction schedules, ensure work is completed on time and within budget, and per company standards.

Makes the proper notification to all federal, state and local agencies before, during and after construction as required.

Prior to commencement of construction, coordinates with customer(s) at the jobsite to determine specific customer requirements, construction sequencing and provides site readiness verification.

Maintains frequent and regular contact with contractor supervision regarding job performance and documents results appropriately.

Ensures that the terms and conditions of the contract and technical specifications are met.

Makes the necessary field decisions regarding job changes and communicates them as necessary to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; documents all job changes to ensure compliance and ensures the updates get documented in the appropriate information technology systems.

Regularly communicates job status to the appropriate parties to facilitate scheduling commitments.

Maintains customer coordination during construction phase and conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.

Performs storm duty assignments as needed.

Reports to service center, jobsite, or remote location.

Lead all Environmental Health and Safety (HSA) activities and reporting

Monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the work

Represent client in the field and coordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice.

Review engineering drawings

Lead meetings with the project team and EPC

Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports

Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances

Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned

Act as the client’s quality assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program, document and provide reports

Document findings in the field through field observation reports

Lead system turnover walkdowns and verification

Provide input to Entergy’s Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting

Qualifications

Field Construction oversight experience

Electrical or mechanical oversight experience throughout a plant environment

Strong communication, management background, ability to stop work when needed

Safety focused

OSHA 30 Certification
