- Job Description:
- Ensure actual construction costs align with forecasted expectations.
- Support Construction Administration (“CA”) of contracts.
- QA/QC for project costs to date, cost coding, and monthly forecasts.
- Provide technical accounting expertise on Fixed Assets and Leases under IFRS GAAP, including oversight of fixed assets and leasing issues/risks.
- Manage data inputs between Yardi and Procore.
- Carry out pay application billing review and data entry.
- Review CAPEX AP invoices and progress billing entry.
- Review and issue Debtors and Invoice reports.
- Own and maintain various KPI schedules.
- Define, create, and maintain various databases related to projects and contracts to provide accurate and relevant data or analysis to top management.
- Update monthly EAC proformas with actuals and committed spend.
- Investigate CAPEX transactions and close out queries.
- Consolidate CAPEX report.
- Close out POs as part of the demobilization process of completed contracts.
- Support month-end and forecasting process.
- Support external audit process.
- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for recording fixed assets.
- Record fixed assets acquisition and disposals in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of construction in progress into fixed assets account.
- Execute depreciation run and depreciation reasonableness check.
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed assets subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
- Update the detailed movement schedule of fixed assets for reporting and attend to auditors’ queries.
- Investigate potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
- Conduct physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
- Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
- Conduct analysis related to fixed assets.
- Cash flow forecast on capital expenditure for hedging purposes.
- Submission of fixed assets information for insurance coverage.
- Analyse, initiate, and implement best practices and procedures in the CCF department.
- Advise senior management on any critical trends in relation to the financial performance of the company.
- Promote a strong culture of cooperation within the team.
- Handle additional duties as assigned by management.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of construction cost accounting is required.
- Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a relevant industry (construction, real estate, and/or tech).
- Data Center or Construction industry experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Yardi Voyager, preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Procore, preferred but not required.
- Proficient in the Windows and Office 365 environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of dedication to customer service with team members and partners.
- Proven ability to efficiently respond to critical issues, challenging inquiries, or complaints.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to tackle problems and drive efficiencies using metrics and information.
- Successful candidate must be an excellent leader and team player, able to work with a variety of people.
- This position requires an organized individual with the capacity to balance multiple projects simultaneously, perform well in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize work efforts, all with minimal direction.
- Travel required is expected to be up to 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
