About the role

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, the Sr. Accountant will play a key role in supporting the growth and development of Bullhorn's Finance team while helping to establish, improve, and scale accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure across multiple areas of the accounting function while developing both technical and business partnership skills. You'll take ownership of key aspects of the month-end close process, work closely with FP&A and business leaders, contribute to audit activities, and help drive continuous improvement across the team.

A typical day will include...
Owning key components of the monthly close across multiple areas of the P&L, including payroll and royalty-related expense accounts, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting within a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on variance analysis

Investigating financial fluctuations, identifying root causes, and partnering with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies

Partnering directly with FP&A and business leaders to analyse expense trends, support forecasting activities, and provide actionable financial insights

Supporting accounting activities across the business while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Assisting with the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and supporting technical accounting documentation

Helping to strengthen and improve internal controls, close processes, and financial reporting workflows

Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and streamline accounting processes

Supporting ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required

This role is a fit for you if...
You have at least 1 year of experience in a Senior Accountant role with demonstrated ownership of complex P&L expense accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

You have 3+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally within a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Public Accounting experience is strongly preferred

You are comfortable owning variance analysis end-to-end, including identifying issues, understanding drivers, and recommending solutions

You have experience partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Finance, or business stakeholders

You have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements

You possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

You are highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA certification is a plus)

Bonus points for...
Experience supporting external audits and working directly with auditors

Exposure to ASC 842 or other technical accounting areas

Experience contributing to process improvement, automation, or internal control initiatives

Experience working within a SaaS, technology, or other high-growth environment

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual target bonus & a comprehensive benefits package.
