We are looking for an experienced Scala Engineer to join a remote team working on industrial IoT solutions. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend systems, working with real-time data, and contributing to modern cloud-based architecture.

Required Skills

3+ years of total experience in web development
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Scala programming language
Strong knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
Experience with building RESTful APIs
Solid experience with backend development and distributed systems
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
English at least Upper-intermediate

Tech Stack Scala, Cats Effect, Akka (HTTP, Streams), Slick, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Azure, Kubernetes, Databricks

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high-quality RESTful microservices using Scala, Akka HTTP / Akka Streams
Support clean, maintainable, and well-documented event-driven architecture following best practices and coding standards
Utilize Kubernetes, Terraform and Python scripting to support application deployments in Azure Cloud
Utilize SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, for data storage and retrieval purposes.
Collaborate with small cross-functional development teams to deliver feature-rich web applications.
