Salary Range: $4-$5 per hour (depending on experience)
NextPower is at the forefront of the energy industry, transforming how solar sites are monitored and optimized through AI, computer vision, and robotics. As we expand our global robotics operations, we are building an India-based team that works closely with our operations group in California to support remote robot missions across utility-scale solar sites.
This position is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working in an English-speaking environment and collaborating with U.S.-based teams in technical support, customer service, or robotics-related functions.
As a Robotics Systems Operator – India Operations, you will remotely operate and monitor robotic systems deployed at solar sites while collaborating daily with our California operations team. You will help ensure missions are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational expectations.
Due to coordination with our California-based operations team, this position will primarily operate during night shift hours in India to align with U.S. daytime operations.
This role is part of a growing robotics organization in India and offers strong opportunities for career growth as the team scales.
Key Responsibilities
Remote Robot Operation
Operate and monitor robotic inspection missions across solar sites
Execute daily mission schedules and ensure mission completion accuracy
Cross-Regional Collaboration
Communicate clearly with U.S.-based operators, supervisors, and technical teams
Participate in handoffs, shift updates, and mission reviews with the California operations team
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Identify operational issues and work with technical teams to resolve robot or connectivity challenges
Escalate incidents using internal workflows and documentation standards
Deployment & Operational Support
Assist with onboarding new sites, robot readiness checks, and validation of mission setup
Support operational testing and process improvements
Documentation & Reporting
Log mission data, anomalies, and operational notes using internal platforms
Provide clear written and verbal updates in English
Safety & Compliance
Follow company and client safety procedures when supporting robot operations
Maintain accurate operational documentation
Qualifications
English fluency (spoken and written) — daily communication with U.S. teams is required
Experience working in an English-speaking environment, such as:
Technical support
Customer service or call center operations
Robotics or remote operations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Basic technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Ability to work from an office environment during night shift hours aligned with U.S. operations
Preferred
Experience with robotics, remote monitoring, or technical platforms
Exposure to solar energy or industrial environments
Familiarity with documentation or ticketing systems
