Empire Life is looking to hire a Risk Analyst to join their Risk Management team. The role involves supporting risk management initiatives, coordinating elements of the enterprise risk management program, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Support risk management initiatives
  • Coordinate major elements of the enterprise risk management program including risk identification and assessment procedures
  • Monitor internal compliance
  • Recommend and action changes
  • Develop, execute, analyze and maintain risk management processes and tools
  • Research and analyze risk management issues
  • Develop risk metrics and trending analysis
  • Provide guidance on methods and solutions
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to enhance the risk management program
  • Develop precise and thorough documentation for the processes that support risk management
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with line management and senior leaders
  • Ensure compliance with current and emerging regulatory and governing requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional and inter-departmental tasks to support the company’s business continuity management program

Skills

  • 1 to 2 years risk assessment based work experience within the Financial Service industry (audit, actuarial, accounting, compliance, operations)
  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple initiatives and work with relevant business stakeholders
  • Active listener / excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong self-initiative with ability to take ownership of challenges and take appropriate action
  • Creative problem solver
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database software and Power BI
  • Completion of a university degree in a program such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or Economics
  • Commitment to continue professional development to support career progression and role competency
