About the Role
As a Customer Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Modernization, you will serve as a critical bridge between arenaflex and our enterprise customers. Your expertise in cloud-native architecture and infrastructure engineering will be instrumental in helping organizations transition from legacy systems to modern, scalable cloud solutions. This is not just a technical role—it's a strategic partnership where you'll influence how companies approach their digital transformation journeys.
In this position, you will help prospective and existing customers understand the full breadth of arenaflex's capabilities, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures tailored to their unique business challenges, engage in proof-of-concept implementations, and troubleshoot any technical questions or roadblocks they encounter. You'll leverage your deep expertise and exceptional presentation skills to engage with customers at all levels—from technical architects to executive leadership—understanding their business and technical requirements while persuasively presenting practical, impactful solutions on the arenaflex platform.
What You'll Do
As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, your responsibilities extend far beyond traditional technical sales. You'll be the trusted technical advisor for our customers, guiding them through their entire cloud transformation journey. Here's what you can expect:
- Business Opportunity Development: Work collaboratively with the sales and account teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop comprehensive strategies to resolve technical blockers that stand between customers and their transformation goals.
- Technical Relationship Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for arenaflex customers, managing product and solution briefings, leading proof-of-concept work, and coordinating additional technical resources as needed to ensure customer success.
- Solution Demonstration: Work directly with customers to demonstrate and prototype arenaflex product integrations in their specific environments, showcasing the tangible value our platform can bring to their organization.
- Infrastructure Assessment & Modernization: Guide customers through comprehensive assessments of their existing legacy application environments, providing strategic recommendations on roadmaps for application modernization that align with their business objectives.
- Architecture & Integration Strategy: Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement complete, end-to-end solutions on the arenaflex platform.
- Customer Collaboration: Engage with technical stakeholders at all levels, presenting complex technical concepts in accessible ways while building lasting relationships that drive customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends, provide customer feedback for product improvement, and devise enhancements to arenaflex products based on real-world customer needs.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in cloud technology and customer-facing experience. We're looking for candidates who bring both technical depth and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Alternatively, equivalent practical experience demonstrating equivalent technical proficiency will be considered.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. This experience should demonstrate your ability to understand customer needs, architect solutions, and drive successful outcomes.
- Executive Presence: Demonstrated experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders. You should be comfortable leading technical discussions with C-suite executives while maintaining credibility and professionalism.
- Technical Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value, creating compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
While we value all qualified candidates, the following experiences and skills will help you excel in this role and accelerate your impact at arenaflex:
- Infrastructure Engineering Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering, including deep understanding of compute, storage, networking, and security fundamentals in enterprise environments.
- Modernization Technologies: Experience with virtualization or containerization platforms such as VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies. Understanding of microservices architectures and modern application deployment patterns.
- Cloud Migration Experience: Proven track record in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms, including assessment, planning, and execution of migration projects that minimize disruption while maximizing cloud-native benefits.
- Security Expertise: Experience with security controls including encryption standards, identity management and access control frameworks, understanding of attack vectors, and familiarity with penetration testing methodologies.
- Networking Proficiency: Strong grasp of networking concepts including software-defined networking, routing protocols, virtual private networks, load balancers, and firewall configurations in cloud environments.
- Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, architecture, or security (such as arenaflex Professional Cloud Architect, Solutions Architect, or equivalent) are highly valued.
Skills & Competencies
Beyond formal qualifications, success in this role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and business acumen:
- Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, architecture patterns, and best practices. Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and product updates.
- Consultative Selling: Customer-first mindset with the ability to understand business challenges and position technical solutions that address real customer needs rather than pushing products.
- Presentation Excellence: Outstanding presentation and demo skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from technical developers to C-suite executives.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop creative solutions under pressure.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product management, and engineering.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and customer requirements.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Career Growth & Development
At arenaflex, your career trajectory is limited only by your ambition. As a Customer Engineer, you'll develop unparalleled expertise in enterprise cloud architecture and digital transformation, positioning yourself as a sought-after professional in the industry. - Career Advancement: Clear progression pathways to senior technical roles, specialized domains (such as security, data analytics, or machine learning), or leadership positions within our customer engineering organization.
- Industry Exposure: Regular engagement with cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to work with leading enterprises across diverse industries, expanding your professional network and industry knowledge.
- Skill Development: Mentorship from experienced engineers and leaders, plus exposure to cross-functional projects that broaden your skill set beyond your core specialization.
