We are sharing a specialised remote opportunity for STEM professionals with strong coding experience in mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related scientific fields.

This role supports collaborations with leading AI research laboratories working to improve advanced AI systems through scientific code validation, algorithmic evaluation, and model benchmarking.

Selected professionals will help translate complex scientific research into structured computational problems, develop high-quality Python implementations, and evaluate the technical accuracy of AI-generated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Scientific Problem Development

Identify and analyze research papers introducing novel scientific or computational methods

Translate complex scientific concepts into structured, code-implementable problem statements

Break down advanced research problems into logical and independently testable components

Algorithm & Code Development

Develop gold standard Python implementations for scientific or mathematical problems

Write robust unit tests to verify algorithm correctness and reproducibility

Work with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, or domain-specific tools

AI Model Evaluation

Evaluate AI-generated code solutions for correctness, clarity, and computational accuracy

Help benchmark model performance on complex scientific and algorithmic tasks

Identify edge cases, logical errors, or implementation gaps in model outputs

Quality Assurance & Review

Review peer prompts, solutions, and unit tests for completeness and technical rigor

Provide structured feedback to improve the reliability of AI-generated scientific code

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related STEM fields

Strong proficiency in Python for scientific or numerical computing

Experience working with libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, or similar tools

Ability to translate complex academic research into structured computational problems

Experience writing technical documentation or structured technical explanations

Strong attention to detail and analytical reasoning skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with domain-specific libraries such as RDKit, OpenMM, or similar scientific frameworks

Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows

Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as pytest
