Our client, a leading full-service media and public relations agency, is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Senior Public Relations Manager to lead their crisis communications practice, operating entirely remotely. This critical role requires an individual adept at navigating high-stakes situations, protecting and enhancing brand reputation, and developing proactive and reactive communication strategies. You will be responsible for advising clients across diverse industries on potential risks, developing comprehensive crisis preparedness plans, and managing communication efforts during sensitive incidents. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional judgment, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a deep understanding of media relations, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management, all with the ability to excel in a virtual team setting.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust crisis communication strategies and plans for a wide range of client scenarios. Provide expert counsel to clients on reputation management, risk assessment, and crisis preparedness. Act as a key point of contact during crisis situations, managing media inquiries, social media responses, and internal/external stakeholder communications. Draft and disseminate press releases, statements, talking points, and other communication materials under tight deadlines. Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and stakeholders. Conduct media training sessions for client spokespeople, preparing them for challenging interviews. Monitor media coverage and online sentiment, providing real-time analysis and recommendations. Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and other internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and strategic alignment. Manage and mentor junior PR team members involved in crisis communication efforts. Analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide post-crisis reports and recommendations. Stay current on evolving media landscapes, communication technologies, and best practices in crisis management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in public relations, with a significant specialization in crisis communications and reputation management. Demonstrated success in managing high-profile crisis situations and protecting brand reputation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages. Strong understanding of media relations, journalism, and digital/social media platforms. Proven ability to think strategically, make sound judgments under pressure, and lead effectively in a remote environment. Experience advising senior executives and boards of directors. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. A proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
