Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting government facilities. The role involves analyzing policies, developing compliance plans, conducting inspections, and providing training to ensure adherence to environmental regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting government facilities
  • Perform analysis on the drafting of policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations affecting the government
  • Develop and review environmental compliance and management plans
  • Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections, audits, and evaluations as directed by the government to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the government and develop and conduct environmental compliance training for government employees and contractors
  • Review NEPA documentation and provide facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
  • Provide direct project management for surge initiatives and stewardship activities

Skills

  • Experience with environmental compliance issues
  • Experience with environmental planning, including NEPA analysis
  • Ability to manage competing requirements
  • Ability to coordinate administrative tasks
  • Ability to come up with creative and innovative solutions
  • Ability to provide schedule management and development for long-term projects
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology
