Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting government facilities. The role involves analyzing policies, developing compliance plans, conducting inspections, and providing training to ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting government facilities
- Perform analysis on the drafting of policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations affecting the government
- Develop and review environmental compliance and management plans
- Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections, audits, and evaluations as directed by the government to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the government and develop and conduct environmental compliance training for government employees and contractors
- Review NEPA documentation and provide facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
- Provide direct project management for surge initiatives and stewardship activities
Skills
- Experience with environmental compliance issues
- Experience with environmental planning, including NEPA analysis
- Ability to manage competing requirements
- Ability to coordinate administrative tasks
- Ability to come up with creative and innovative solutions
- Ability to provide schedule management and development for long-term projects
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- HS diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology
