What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure smooth pharmacy operations and excellent patient care. Here's what you can expect in this role:


  • Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Utilize arenaflex's prescription data entry techniques and guidelines to process new patient enrollments by accurately entering information into our secure systems. You'll ensure all data is captured correctly and efficiently.
  • Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines. This includes entering refill orders for processing, investigating to obtain missing prescription information, and accurately interpreting medical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure proper medication dispensing.
  • Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions with precision and attention to detail. You'll identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain data integrity.
  • Patient Communication: Manage correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chat messages, and emails. Additionally, you'll make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to gather information, follow up on requests, or address concerns.
  • Third-Party Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve third-party billing issues by examining claims, collecting information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to specific plan requirements. You'll also make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance to pharmacists, both those in your local office and those in other locations. You'll identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate, ensuring seamless collaboration across our pharmacy network.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain compliance with state and government regulations, and ensure all activities are performed in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Licensure Requirement: Must obtain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification thereafter, as required by your state's Board of Pharmacy.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

Essential Requirements:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Computer Skills: Basic level proficiency with computers, including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse functions, start and close programs, switch between applications, save documents, print reports, and access information online.

  • Web Navigation: Fundamental web browser skills, including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.

  • Keyboarding Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding abilities (minimum 25 WPM), with the ability to type from memory and organize documents effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers.

  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.

  • One to two years of experience as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration by the state as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.

  • Mid to advanced-level keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM, typing from memory, formatting documents).

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (a significant plus!).
