About This Opportunity
This position offers a full range of diverse, detailed, and complex responsibilities that will allow you to develop valuable skills in the utility industry. As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be the frontline voice of our company, responding to a comprehensive spectrum of customer telephone inquiries related to utility bills, service order requests, new service connections, service transfers, and emergency situations.
While this is a remote position providing flexibility and work-life balance, please note that all new employees are required to travel to their designated arenaflex facility during the first two days of employment for orientation and may need to travel periodically as necessary. This initial in-person requirement ensures you receive comprehensive training and have the opportunity to connect with your leadership team and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Representative with arenaflex, you will handle a wide variety of customer interactions. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
- Billing Inquiries and Resolution: Process billing calls with precision and attention to detail, investigating meter reads and handling requests related to billing accuracy, payment inquiries, and account adjustments.
- Emergency Response: Handle emergency calls with composure and efficiency, ensuring customers receive the support they need during critical situations while following established safety protocols.
- Service Management: Process customer move-ins, service additions, and transfers, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate account setup for new and existing customers.
- Financial Transactions: Process refunds, compensation requests, and account changes with accuracy and transparency, maintaining proper documentation throughout.
- Escalation Management: Route escalated customer issues to appropriate departments for resolution, serving as an advocate for customers while ensuring issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Community Assistance Programs: Make referrals and process requests for special programs such as Energy Assistance, CRISIS, Dollar Energy, and other assistance programs designed to support customers in need.
- Service Order Processing: Process order inquiry calls, initiate service orders, and provide customers with timely service order status updates.
- Payment Arrangements: Assist customers with credit options and payment arrangements, helping them find solutions that work for their financial situations.
- Self-Service Guidance: Direct customers to appropriate self-service channels when applicable, empowering them to manage their accounts independently.
- Performance Standards: Meet individual deadlines, metrics, and team goals while maintaining high-quality customer interactions.
- Multi-tasking Excellence: Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing urgent issues and maintaining focus on customer needs.

Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a professional setting
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple tabs, windows, and systems simultaneously
- Typing speed of at least 25 WPM (Words Per Minute)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for required travel
- Residence must be located within 80 miles of an arenaflex facility in one of the following areas:

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application and demonstrate your readiness for success in this role:
- Two to three years of call center experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Two to five years of previous customer service work-from-home experience
- Knowledge of utility industry operations and billing processes
- Advanced computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in navigating multiple applications and systems
- Typing speed of 60-65 WPM for enhanced efficiency
- Familiarity with energy assistance programs and community resources
Work-From-Home Office Requirements
As a remote employee with arenaflex, you must meet the following technical and environmental requirements:
- High-Speed Internet: Maintain reliable wired internet access with minimum speeds of 75 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload. Wi-Fi or satellite internet connections are not permitted—internet must be hardwired for stability and security.
- Private Workspace: Work in a secure, private location such as a designated room or office in your residence. The workspace must be free from disruptions and distractions caused by other household members.
- Ergonomic Setup: Have proper ergonomic office equipment including an appropriate desk chair, desk surface, and computer setup that supports good posture and comfortable extended use.

- Availability: Be available to work shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and able to attend 100% of the 13-week comprehensive training program.
