The Radiation Health Branch supports beneficial uses of radiation, evaluates and controls hazards associated
with the use of radiation and protects citizens of the commonwealth from unnecessary exposure to ionizing

Responsibilities and Duties:

• 
  Conducts radiation protection surveys, complex, sample analysis and evaluates radiation programs.

• Verifies compliance with state regulations and prepares clear and concise report of findings.

• Follows prescribed methods and procedures for using radiation detection instruments.

• Performs inspections on various types of radiation producing machines to include industrial, medical,
  dental,
  academic and veterinary.

• Other duties as required.
