QA Engineer - Video Streaming, Playback & Automation

Seeking a Quality Engineer focusing on video streaming and playback QA to join a fast‑paced media technology team. This role is focused on ensuring best‑in‑class playback performance, reliability, and user experience across a large cross‑platform streaming ecosystem.
The role is contract-to-hire and open to remote candidates, with a preference for those open to occasional onsite interaction in the LA OR NYC area.

Responsibilities:

The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for:
• Owning and expanding cross-platform player testing strategy with a focus on automation
• Designing and maintaining scalable automated test suites
• Improving test coverage and reducing manual regression cycles
• Validating QoE metrics and different playback types
• Leading QA efforts across various platforms

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in video playback streaming QA
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with automated test frameworks
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of streaming technologies like DRM, HLS, and DASH
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Drive issues to resolution
• Provide root cause analysis if needed
