Proofreader needed for teen workbook — 27,500 words

I am looking for an experienced proof reader to work on a completed teen workbook ready for self-publication. This person needs to understand work with teens, as the voice of the book is slightly different to many textbooks out there.

About the book:

You Saw Me For A Reason. Now Read Me. is a practical life skills workbook for teenagers aged 11-16. It covers mindset, breathing, resilience, self-talk, confidence, grief, bullying, social media, peer pressure, and finding your purpose. It is approximately 27,500 words across 20 chapters plus front matter.

The book is written in a warm, direct, conversational tone — deliberately informal in places. It is not an academic text. The voice is intentional and should be preserved throughout. I am not looking for the writing style to be changed — I am looking for errors to be caught and slight improvements to be made.

What I need:

Spelling and punctuation errors corrected

Grammar checked — bearing in mind the intentionally informal tone

Consistency checked throughout — names, terminology, cross references between chapters, formatting

Any factual references flagged if they appear questionable

A clean final document returned in Word format with tracked changes so I can review and accept each correction

What I don't need:

Rewriting

Restructuring

Changes to voice or tone

Developmental editing

Experience required:

Proven proofreading experience — please share your portfolio or examples of previous work

Experience with teen, educational, or wellbeing content preferred

Familiarity with UK English essential — this is a UK publication

I have attached a chapter to get an idea of the style and the layout.
