About the Role
The Global Vendor and Network Services (GM&NS) Estimating team at arenaflex is responsible for the single largest source of our revenue: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with many colleagues to determine the optimal pricing to enable vendor recognition of arenaflex while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction. Ultimately, we drive GM&S revenue and profit growth through client-driven pricing standards, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions.
We are currently seeking a talented Financial Analyst of Planning and Analysis to join our Canada team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the association's objective for profitable charge volume and vendor growth—essential for the strength of our business. This is a part-time position that can be performed remotely, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst on our team, you will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Revenue Forecasting: Create Canada forecasts for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against projections, identifying key drivers of change and variance analysis.
- Performance Reporting: Develop comprehensive merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region, providing actionable insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Drive standardization and process improvement among the various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting-related activities, ensuring consistency and efficiency across operations.
- Audit Support: Support external audits by investigating issues found, reaching out to regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and driving resolution to completion.
- Data Analysis: Perform ad-hoc data analysis to evaluate rebate rate trends and uncover valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial planning and business objectives.
- Strategic Insights: Provide financial modeling and analysis to support pricing strategies and merchant acquisition initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required; preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry; alternatively, other finance-related roles are desired.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS/SQL is strongly preferred.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong attention to detail and organization; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and derive value-added insights from large volumes of financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills—both written and oral—with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Relationship Management: Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be different goals and priorities.

- Understanding of pricing strategies and revenue management principles.
