Job Summary
As a Part-Time Airline Ramp Agent & Passenger Services Representative at arenaflex, you will play a dual role that combines ground handling operations with passenger services. This position is essential to our airport operations, ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo, the timely handling of luggage, and the delivery of world-class customer service to airline passengers.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and quantity in your work, following established procedures and safety protocols at all times. Your role will involve operating vehicles and equipment, communicating with flight crews, and providing assistance to passengers throughout their travel experience. You will also be expected to remain vigilant regarding security procedures and report any suspicious activities or breaches to management immediately.

Key Responsibilities
As a Ramp Agent at arenaflex, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep airline operations running smoothly. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Aircraft Cargo Handling: Load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 70 pounds in and out of confined cargo areas. This involves pushing, pulling, and positioning cargo within the aircraft while maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Vehicle Operations: Drive vehicles with gross weights ranging from 3,000 to 80,000 pounds in areas congested with aircraft, moving and stationary vehicles, and equipment. You must demonstrate excellent depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors (red, green, and yellow) for safe positioning.
- Aircraft Push-Out Operations: Participate in aircraft push-out operations by driving 80,000-pound vehicles or providing guide functions to drivers. This requires precise depth perception in congested areas and clear communication with cockpit personnel during push-back procedures.
- Cargo Transportation: Transport cargo to and from aircraft using 3,000-pound vehicles, navigating through congested areas while reading off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
- Ground-to-Cockpit Communication: Engage in proper ground-to-cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with or without visual aids, during aircraft push-out and towing functions.
- Baggage Handling: Pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 pounds onto and from conveyor belts, ensuring proper handling and sorting.
- Equipment Setup: Pull water hoses from stationary cabinets and connect them to aircraft, as well as lift, connect, and remove 40-pound KVA electric cables to and from aircraft.
- Aircraft De-Icing: Perform aircraft de-icing duties at heights of up to 20-80 feet, lifting and holding aircraft noses and spraying glycol on wings and fuselages.
- Passenger Services: As a Passenger Services Agent, you will handle ticket reservations, issuance, fare calculations, refunds, baggage checks, and excess baggage collection.
- Customer Assistance: Provide passengers with general travel information, meet aircraft at gates or loading areas, and perform duties in departure lounges and boarding gates.
- Flight Documentation: Determine flight close-out times, prepare and complete various flight forms for accuracy, invalidate tickets, and perform post-departure procedures.
- Lost and Found: Perform lost and found activities to assist passengers with misplaced belongings.
- Security Compliance: Comply with all arenaflex site security procedures for assigned warehouse and operations. Remain cognizant of staff, security contractors, and visitor activities, and report security breaches or suspicious occurrences to management.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds (31.9 kg) repeatedly throughout your shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, twist, turn, stoop, bend, reach, and grip while performing job duties.
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including exposure to jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and high noise levels.
- Willingness to wear the prescribed uniform and insignia.
- Ability to maintain personal appearance and grooming that presents a favorable corporate image.
- Must be able to judge distance accurately for vehicle positioning and cargo handling.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings.
- Ability to work in a high-noise level environment.
- This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Union membership and payment of union dues are required.

- Confidence to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas and report their presence to authorities as necessary.
- Previous experience in aviation, hospitality, or customer service roles is a plus but not required—we provide comprehensive training!
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Working as a Ramp Agent and Passenger Services Representative requires physical stamina and versatility. You must be prepared to:
- Lift up to 70 pounds throughout your shift.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, often throughout the entire shift.
- Perform repetitive motions such as twisting, turning, stooping, bending, reaching, and gripping.
- Work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
- Exposure to jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and high noise levels from aircraft and ground equipment.
- Work at heights of up to 20-80 feet when performing de-icing duties.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for certain tasks.
