The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division as a Paralegal. The role involves providing day-to-day litigation support, managing case files, and performing administrative duties to assist attorneys in their work on emerging technologies and data privacy issues.


Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day litigation support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case responsibilities
  • Tracking and organizing discovery and court filings
  • Drafting case materials
  • Cite checking, formatting, and finalizing legal memoranda
  • Compiling evidence and exhibits
  • Performing other duties as requested by attorneys
  • Organizing files
  • Trial support
  • Indexing and record-keeping
  • Coordinating with enforcement partners
  • Document filing
  • Scheduling
  • General office support

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and/or relevant experience is required
  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines, and the ability to follow through with oral and written instructions are essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A high level of proficiency with data analysis, technology and computers, especially word processing and spreadsheet software, is preferred
