Oil & Gas Due Diligence Landman (Utica/Marcellus) – Full-Time Contract | Remote

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Due Diligence Landman to support acquisition and divestiture projects in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays. This is a full-time contract position working remotely with a fast-paced deal team.

This is not a traditional title role—we are looking for someone who understands how land impacts a deal.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze oil & gas leases and agreements for acquisition due diligence

  • Evaluate:

    • Lease terms and obligations

    • Depth severance and HBP status

    • Pooling and unitization

  • Identify title gaps, risks, and key assumptions

  • Work with limited/incomplete datasets and clearly communicate findings

  • Support deal teams by validating land-related inputs for valuation and decision-making

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in oil & gas due diligence / A&D projects

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Utica and/or Marcellus shale (preferred)

    • Lease analysis, depth rights, and unit structures

  • Ability to think critically and make defensible assumptions with incomplete data

  • Strong communication skills—able to translate land issues to non-land stakeholders

  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote, fast-moving environment

Preferred (but not required):

  • Prior experience supporting acquisition teams, operators, or private equity-backed projects

  • Appalachian Basin experience (OH, WV, PA)

What to Expect:

  • Full-time contract role

  • Remote work environment

  • High-impact work tied directly to active deals

Closing:
If you’re someone who can look at a package, connect the dots, and call out risk before it becomes a problem—we want to talk.
