This is a <b>stable, year-round opportunity</b> with local routes—no long hauls, no overnights.</p><p>.</p><p>If you're a safe, reliable driver who enjoys working outdoors, this could be the perfect job for you.</p><p>.</p><p><b>**New CDL Holders Encouraged to Apply!**</b></p><p><b>.</b></p><p><b>Schedule:</b> Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays)</p><p><b>Start Time:</b> 5:30 AM -<span> </span><b>Ending when the route is complete</b>, generally 9-11 hours.</p><p>.</p><p><b>Competitive Compensation:</b></p><ul><li><b>Starting Pay: $28.00 – $30.00/hr</b><span> </span>DOE</li><li><b>Annual Safety Bonus $$</b></li><li><b>Yearly Boot Allowance $$</b></li><li>Generous Paid Time Off</li><li>Full benefits package:<ul><li>Medical, dental, vision insurance</li><li>Life insurance, long & short-term disability</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li></ul></li><li>Opportunities to advance – We promote from within!</li><li>Training across vehicle types: Side Load, Front Load & Roll-Off Trucks</li></ul><p>.</p><p><u><b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b></u></p><ul><li>Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.</li><li>Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.</li><li>Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.</li><li>Ability to perform a physically demanding job,<span> </span><span>loading and unloading</span>, moving waste bins to positions accessible by truck, and closing all enclosure gates as necessary, at times with no helpers.</li><li>Operates hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.</li><li>Cleans up the area around accidental waste spills.</li><li>Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment;</li><li>Fuels vehicle daily</li><li>Maintains the physical appearance of the equipment, including routine washing</li><li>Monitors over and under filled carts/containers to assess changing service requirements;</li><li>Monitors the condition and repair needs of existing carts/containers;</li><li>Follows all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>.</p><p><u><b>Physical Demands:</b></u></p><ul><li>Ability to function in a wide variety of environments to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments (i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold).</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and move and maneuver up to 100 pounds.</li><li>Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route.</li><li>Ability to work a physically demanding job. <span> </span><span>Loading and unloading</span><span> </span>cans with no helpers.</li></ul><p>.</p><p><u><b>Job Requirements:</b></u></p><ul><li><b>Class A or B CDL</b> with air brake endorsement</li><li><b>Clean driving record</b></li><li><b>Ability to pass a drug screen</b></li><li><b>Ability to pass company background check</b></li><li>Knowledge of <b><span>DOT safety regulations</span></b></li><li>Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb in/out of trucks</li><li>Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.</li><li>Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English</li><li>Positive attitude and strong work ethic</li></ul><p>.</p><p></p><p><b>****<u>If applying through Indeed or other third party site:</u></b></p><p><b>To be considered for any of our current openings <u>you must complete an application directly through our website at:</u> www.wasteconnections.com  </b></p><p>.</p><p>Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
