Job Description
We are a fast-growing, product-driven platform building a data-powered user experience with a strong focus on automation, engagement, and retention.
We are seeking a Lifecycle Marketing / CRM Consultant to design and implement the systems that power our user communication — including email, SMS, push notifications, and behavioral automation.
This role is responsible for owning the lifecycle strategy and execution, from user onboarding to long-term retention and conversion.
This is not a basic email marketing role. We are looking for someone who has built and deployed lifecycle systems from the ground up.
Role Overview
- This role sits at the intersection of:
- Lifecycle Marketing (CRM)
- Product Behavior & User Flows
- Marketing Operations / Automation Systems
- You will define:
- What we send
- When we send it
- Why users receive it
- How systems trigger it
What You’ll Be Responsible For1. Lifecycle Marketing Ownership (CRM)
You will be the primary owner of our lifecycle and communication systems.
- Responsibilities include:
- Email automation flows (welcome, onboarding, alerts, re-engagement, conversion)
- Push and SMS strategy
- User segmentation (hot / warm / cold users)
- Engagement optimization (open rates, CTR, retention, churn)
- Campaign calendar and automation logic
- 2. User Flows & Product-Driven Triggers
- Map full user journeys:
- Signup → onboarding → activation → retention → upgrade
- Define what behaviors should trigger communication:
- Example: saved searches, new opportunities, inactivity, engagement signals
- Work alongside product/development to align messaging with platform behavior
- 3. Tech Stack Strategy & Implementation
- Recommend and implement lifecycle tools such as:
- Customer.io
- Klaviyo
- HubSpot
- Define system architecture (CRM, messaging tools, backend integration)
- Ensure scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
- 4. Marketing Operations / System Deployment
- Build and deploy automation systems:
- Event tracking
- Data pipelines
- Workflow logic
- A/B testing frameworks
- Work with developers to integrate APIs and ensure proper data flow
- 5. Performance & Optimization
- Analyze lifecycle performance:
- Which emails drive conversions
- What increases retention
- Where users drop off
- Continuously optimize flows, timing, and segmentation
How This Role Fits Into the Team
- This role combines responsibilities typically split across:
- Lifecycle Marketing Manager / CRM Manager
- Marketing Operations / Marketing Engineer
- Growth / Product Collaboration
- You will:
- Own what gets sent and how it performs
- Help define when and why it gets triggered
- Ensure systems are actually built and running
Required Experience (Must Have)
- We are ONLY considering candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience building and deploying lifecycle systems from scratch
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as:
- Customer.io, Iterable, or Braze
- Strong understanding of:
- Event-driven automation
- Behavioral segmentation
- User lifecycle design
- Experience working with developers and product teams
Required Application Details (Mandatory)
To be considered, applicants MUST include:
- 1. Past Work
- Examples of lifecycle systems you have built
- Platforms/tools used
- Your exact role (strategy vs. implementation vs. both)
2. Deployment Breakdown (Minimum 2 Projects)
- For each project, include:
- What the system did (onboarding, alerts, retention, etc.)
- Tools used
- How it was implemented (API, native integration, custom setup)
- Results (if available: conversion, retention, engagement metrics)
3. Technical Approach (Short Answer)
“How would you structure lifecycle automation for a multi-sided marketplace platform?”

- Subscription or freemium model experience
- What Success Looks Like
- Fully operational lifecycle system tied to real user behavior
