<div><h2>Learning Resources and Student Hub Assistant</h2> <p><b>Join Colchester Institute - Where Your Career Makes a Difference</b></p> <p>We are looking for a Learning Resources and Student Hub Assistant to provide a warm, professional first point of contact for visitors, students and staff at our Braintree campus. This varied role is central to ensuring a positive student experience, supporting Learning Resources services and broader college processes throughout the student journey.</p> <p><b>Job Title</b>: Learning Resources and Student Hub Assistant</p> <p><b>Type</b>: Part time, Maternity Cover, 27 hours a week, 40 weeks a year.</p> <h2>What you\'ll do</h2> <ul> <li>Deliver a friendly and efficient service as the first point of contact in the Student Hub and Learning Resources areas.</li> <li>Respond to enquiries, provide accurate information and signpost students and visitors to appropriate services.</li> <li>Issue visitor passes, temporary student IDs and support campus security and emergency procedures.</li> </ul> <h2>Learning Resources Support</h2> <ul> <li>Use the Library Management System to issue, renew, return and track resources.</li> <li>Maintain library stock, including shelving, organising, repairing, processing new items, and ensuring accessibility.</li> <li>Provide day-to-day support alongside other Learning Resources staff to keep the service running effectively.</li> </ul> <h2>Curriculum & Administrative Support</h2> <ul> <li>Support nominated curriculum areas with admissions tasks, applications, arranging interviews and monitoring attendance in line with college procedures.</li> <li>Provide general administrative support such as taking minutes, generating reports, and producing high-quality written materials.</li> <li>Build effective working relationships with staff across the campus to ensure smooth processes and excellent service.</li> </ul> <h2>Support for Key College Processes</h2> <ul> <li>Assist with enrolment, induction, parent events, open evenings, student interviews, progress boards and other key activities throughout the year.</li> <li>Support the examinations process by securely managing papers and materials, preparing invigilator packs, storing scripts and helping process results and certificates for Braintree students.</li> </ul> <h2>What you\'ll bring</h2> <ul> <li>A cheerful, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.</li> <li>Confidence using digital systems, databases and software such as Outlook, Word and Excel.</li> <li>Flexibility to support both reception and Learning Resources, especially during busy periods or staff absence.</li> <li>A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and the College\'s values.</li> </ul> <h2>Why join us?</h2> <p>You will be part of a friendly and supportive team committed to providing outstanding student services.
