Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate - Of Counsel for a fully remote position available nationwide, including San Juan, PR. This role involves handling motion work related to litigation matters, including demand letters and agency charges. The position is non-Principal track with a requirement of 1850 hours annually.
- Duties
- Conduct legal research and draft briefs and motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
- Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents.
- Research and draft appellate briefs.
- Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.
- Prepare mediation briefs.
- Collaborate with the Professional Development team to deliver work product to clients.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by firm leadership.
- Requirements
- Admission to the CA state bar and compliance with ethical requirements.
- Good standing with the bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role.
- At least 9 years of relevant experience for Of Counsel role, with first chair capacity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and strong legal research and drafting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Certifications
