Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused)

CGI is a leading IT and business consulting services firm, and they are seeking a Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) to join their team. The role involves supporting the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications, primarily focusing on backend services, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to backend development using Java and Spring Boot within AWS environments
• Supporting the development of microservices-based solutions
• Assisting in the design and implementation of RESTful APIs
• Helping integrate applications with databases and external systems
• Participating in code reviews
• Troubleshooting issues
• Supporting deployments

Skills

• 1–3 years of overall software development experience
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Java
• Working knowledge of Spring Boot and familiarity with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.)
• Basic understanding of RESTful API development and microservices concepts
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, or API Gateway
• Exposure to cloud-native application development
• Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and basic SQL
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and version control systems (Git)
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS) or caching technologies (Redis)
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies (Angular, React, or similar)
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
