Junior 508 Compliance Specialist

Company: Rapidiant Corporation (Contract at the FHFA) Position: Junior 508 Compliance Specialist

Salary: $50,000/Year with Full Benefits

Location: Fully Remote (But candidates are preferred to live within 50 miles of Washington DC.)

Work Status: Must be able to obtain US Federal Government Public Trust Clearance (US Citizens or Green Card Holders only, no criminal record)

Required Experience:

1-2 Years of 508 Compliance Experience

1 Year of Experience with CommonLook

Responsibilities Overview (some training will be provided):

· Reviews and remediates internal and external PDF documents for publishing on FHFA’s Intranet, Internet, and correspondence with Congress, Regulated Entities, or others. Documents shall meet the following:

o Documents shall meet Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) level A & AA success criteria.

o Documents shall meet International Standards Organization (ISO) Structural standards for PDF’s, ISO 32000-1:2008

Note: FHFA utilizes CommonLook Office and Global PDF to remediate meet these standards.

· Ensures EAC tracking log is updated.

3.3.2 Microsoft Office Documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

· Reviews and remediates internal and external Microsoft Office Suite products for publishing on FHFA’s Intranet, Internet, and corresponding with Congress, Regulated Entities, or others.

o Documents shall meet WCAG 2.0 level A & AA success criteria.

o Provide guidance to FHFA on best-practices to improve accessibility for these types of documents, as needed.

Note: Currently, FHFA utilizes manual inspections for color-usage and Microsoft’s built-in accessibility checkers. It is recognized that this method may have improvements that can be made. The vendor is encouraged to offer recommendation for improvement to this process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
