Position Overview

We are seeking motivated individuals to fill full-time Remote Customer Service Representative positions. This role is ideal for candidates who reside within a two-hour radius of Port Washington, NY, and are eager to provide outstanding support to customers via telephone. The selected candidates will be working directly with one of arenaflex's premier clients—a global leader in the eyewear and optical industry known for innovative products, cutting-edge technology, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity, meaning that after successfully completing the initial assignment period, qualified candidates may be considered for permanent employment directly with our client company. Compensation and Schedule

At arenaflex, we value our team members and believe in rewarding hard work and dedication. The compensation structure for this position is as follows:


  • English-Speaking Representatives: $17.50 per hour

  • Bilingual French-Speaking Representatives: $20.00 per hour

Shift Schedule:



  • Regular Business Hours: 11:00 AM – 7:15 PM

  • Training Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday through Friday) for two weeks

The paid training program is designed to ensure you have the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in your role. During this time, you will learn about our client's products, services, policies, and customer service best practices.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative with arenaflex, you will serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking assistance with their optical needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Managing Incoming Calls: Answering a high volume of inbound telephone calls from customers, addressing their inquiries, and providing accurate information in a timely and professional manner.

  • Order Processing: Efficiently processing customer orders, ensuring all details are accurately entered into the system and confirming order specifics with customers.

  • Issue Resolution: Resolving customer complaints and troubleshooting issues to determine the best path for resolution, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Documentation: Properly documenting all customer interactions, tracking call types, and maintaining detailed records in the customer relationship management system.

  • Customer Follow-Up: Owning follow-up communications with customers to resolve inquiries regarding order status, shipping status, and product availability.

  • Maintaining Service Standards: Upholding customer service standards, meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), and contributing to overall team success.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participating in ongoing training, meetings, and quality assurance initiatives to enhance performance and customer experience.

  • Ad Hoc Duties: Performing any additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support team operations.

Note: Representatives must be available to handle inbound phone calls for up to 90% of their assigned shift to meet operational needs and ensure exceptional service levels.

Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Residency: Must live within a two-hour radius of Port Washington, NY. (This is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the position and equipment pickup logistics.)
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of high-volume call center experience is required.
  • Industry Background: Medical-related background (medical billing, claims experience, or office experience in a medical setting) or insurance experience is a plus.
  • Call Volume: Must be able to handle a high call volume of approximately 80 calls per day.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent telephone etiquette with the ability to communicate confidently in a clear, professional speaking voice. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Listening Skills: Demonstrated active listening and comprehension skills to accurately understand and address customer needs.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: A clear team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customer situations, demonstrating patience, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). SAP experience is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the optical industry is preferred but not required.
  • System Navigation: Ability to navigate information systems and the internet with ease.
  • Language Skills: Strong English comprehension and a good command of grammar. Bilingual French speakers are encouraged to apply and will receive a higher pay rate.
  • Equipment Requirements: Must be able to connect via hardwire/Ethernet connection (no hotspots or WiFi). Equipment will be provided during the assignment and must be picked up by the candidate at the Port Washington, NY office—no exceptions.
