Industrial Designer (US-Based) – Child-Friendly Silicone Product (Concept to CAD)

I am seeking a US-based Industrial Designer to help develop a small, child-friendly handheld silicone product. This is a consumer product focused on simplicity, ergonomics, and ease of use for young children (ages 3–6). I have a clear vision of the functional goals and am looking for a designer to help translate that into a well-executed form and prototype-ready CAD model. Scope of Work: Phase 1: Concept Development • Create 2–3 simple design concepts to explore overall form and usability • Focus on intuitive use, comfort, and child-friendly proportions Phase 2: Ergonomics & Sizing • Recommend dimensions appropriate for small hands • Ensure the design is easy to grip, not bulky, and comfortable to use Phase 3: CAD for Prototyping • Develop a clean 3D CAD model (STEP/IGES and STL) suitable for prototyping • Experience with silicone or flexible materials (LSR/TPU) is preferred The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of: • Designing for young children (ages 3–6) • Ergonomic grip and usability for small hands • Creating simple, intuitive products that are not overly complex Please include examples of similar work, especially small handheld or child-focused products.
