Independent Contractor - School Partnerships Coordinator for Mental Health Initiatives

Position Summary:

NECCO is seeking a seasoned, relationship-driven School Partnerships Coordinator to support the expansion of school-based and intensive home-based mental health services across all 88 counties in Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of Ohio’s education system and strong district-level connections.
The coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Director of Growth and Development and the State Director for School-Based Services to initiate, nurture, and solidify partnerships with school districts statewide. The goal is to create meaningful opportunities for integrated mental health programming within schools and communities.


Key Responsibilities:

Outreach & Relationship Building:

  • Initiate and maintain contact with district superintendents, principals, and key decision-makers in school systems across Ohio.
  • Serve as a credible and strategic liaison, introducing Necco’s mental health service offerings and exploring partnership opportunities.

 

Collaboration & Strategy:

  • Work in alignment with the Necco Community Behavioral Health Director of Growth and Development and School-Based State Director to prioritize outreach targets and coordinate communication strategies.
  • Provide insight on school district needs, barriers, and opportunities for program implementation.

 

Meeting Facilitation & Follow-Up:

  • Meet weekly/biweekly with Director of Growth and Development and School-Based State Director to strategize and review program planning and expansion opportunities
  • Schedule and help facilitate meetings or presentations with school leadership teams.
  • Ensure timely follow-up, tracking engagement, interest levels, and feedback from school contacts.

 

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and partnership progress.
  • Provide monthly summaries of contacts made, conversations facilitated, and potential partnership outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Former school administrator, superintendent, or senior education leader
  • Deep understanding of Ohio's K-12 education landscape and established relationships with school leadership (preferred)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills
  • Passion for youth mental health and equitable access to school-based services
  • Comfortable working independently in a flexible, remote consulting role
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

 

Compensation:

  • Hourly contract position: up to 20 hours per month
  • Competitive hourly rate, based on experience:
  • $100/hour (consulting, outreach, and strategic guidance)
  • A $500 incentive will be awarded for each new school or district contract that is formalized and executed.
  • This incentive applies only to new partnerships and does not include schools or districts that are currently being served under existing agreements.
