Grant Writer Needed – Mission-Driven Nonprofit (Veterans & First Responders)

Those Who Served Foundation is seeking an experienced grant writer to support our growing nonprofit serving veterans and first responders across North and South Carolina.

We are a newly established organization with a powerful mission—providing purpose-driven, therapeutic outdoor experiences, including the use of a wheelchair-accessible pontoon boat to ensure no one is left behind.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven success securing grants for nonprofits (please include examples/results)

Strong research, writing, and storytelling skills

Ability to take grant opportunities we identify and turn them into compelling, fundable proposals

Familiarity with veteran, first responder, or mental health-related funding is a plus

Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and committed to outcomes

Scope of Work:

Write and submit grant proposals based on opportunities we provide

Assist in refining program descriptions and impact language

Help track submissions and outcomes

Potential for long-term partnership as we grow

Budget & Expectations:

We are working with a limited budget, so we are looking for someone who:

Is confident in their ability to deliver results

Is willing to work efficiently and collaboratively

Understands that every dollar matters in a mission-driven organization

We are not in a position to “test the waters”—we need someone dedicated to helping us succeed and grow sustainably.

To Apply:

Please include:

Examples of grants you’ve successfully secured (amounts and funders, if possible)

Your fee structure (per grant, hourly, or retainer)

Why you’re interested in supporting a veteran-focused nonprofit
