Evolve Foundation is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that helps justice-impacted individuals access careers in the renewable energy industry through workforce development, job placement, and wraparound support services.
We are seeking an experienced Grant Compliance & Administration Manager to oversee awarded grants, manage compliance requirements, coordinate reimbursement requests, monitor budgets, and ensure timely reporting across our grant portfolio.
This role is focused on grant management and administration, not grant writing.
Responsibilities
Manage awarded grants from implementation through closeout
Track grant budgets, expenditures, deliverables, and performance metrics
Prepare and submit reimbursement requests and supporting documentation
Monitor compliance with grant agreements and funding requirements
Develop and maintain grant tracking systems and compliance calendars
Coordinate with accounting, bookkeeping, and program staff
Prepare quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports
Maintain organized grant files and audit-ready documentation
Review grant agreements and identify compliance risks
Support monitoring visits, audits, and funder inquiries
Required Experience
3+ years of nonprofit or government grant management experience
Experience administering reimbursement-based grants
Strong understanding of grant compliance and financial reporting
Experience working with government grants, workforce development programs, or similar funding sources
Strong Excel and budget management skills
Excellent organizational and communication abilities

What Success Looks Like
Within the first 60–90 days, the selected contractor will:
Review all active grant agreements
Create a grant compliance and reporting calendar
Establish budget and expenditure tracking systems
Organize supporting documentation for reimbursements
Develop grant reporting templates
Provide leadership with regular grant status updates
