The Opportunity: Financial Analyst, Planning & Analysis

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Financial Analyst to join our Global Merchant & Network Services (GM&NS) Forecasting team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be at the heart of one of arenaflex's most critical revenue streams: Merchant Discount Income. As a Financial Analyst in this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the financial direction of our merchant services division, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, optimize pricing strategies, and deliver actionable insights that influence business decisions.

The Global Merchant & Network Services Forecasting team is responsible for the single largest source of arenaflex's revenue: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works collaboratively with partners across the organization to determine optimal pricing that enables merchant acceptance of arenaflex while driving improved coverage and merchant satisfaction. We are committed to advancing arenaflex's revenue and profit growth through client-driven pricing standards, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions.

As the Financial Analyst of Planning and Analysis for Canada, you will be responsible for the determination and reporting of merchant discount revenue. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the organization's objectives for profitable charge volume and merchant growth—essential elements for the strength of our business.

Key Responsibilities


  • Revenue Forecasting: Create comprehensive Canada forecasts for merchant discount revenue, track monthly performance against projections, and identify key drivers of variance and change.

  • Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain merchant discount revenue scorecards for the Canada region, providing regular insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Process Excellence: Drive standardization and process improvement among various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting-related activities.

  • Audit Support: Support external audits by investigating issues found, engaging with regional pricing teams that manage merchant relationships to discuss findings, and driving resolution of identified concerns.

  • Analytical Insights: Perform ad-hoc data analysis to evaluate rebate rate trends and uncover valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, pricing, sales, and operations to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.

  • Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the development of pricing strategies that balance revenue growth with merchant satisfaction and retention.

Essential Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in financial services, payments industry, or other finance-related roles.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with programming languages such as SAS, SQL, Python, or R is highly preferred.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and extract value-added insights from large datasets.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Relationship Management: Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders in situations where there may be differing objectives.
