Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support the Finance team in driving overall Company performance. This role will be responsible for the monthly forecasting process, budget ownership for specific P&L areas, and providing critical support to the FP&A team on performance reports and variance analyses.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly forecast and annual budget for select accounts
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in order drive monthly meetings and review business changes to understand impacts to the P&L
  • Present and explain monthly changes to management
  • Maintain all aspects of Company’s Forecasting/Planning application, including user management, data validation, and template maintenance
  • This person will be the primary contact/expert for all users and will ensure the system operates in accordance with our internal audit controls, providing support as needed
  • Support the FP&A team by preparing discussion points, taking notes, and distributing summaries during the monthly forecasting meetings
  • Support Accounting during month end close process by effectively communicating plan/forecast data, generating monthly variance reports, and performing reconciliations to ensure data accuracy & completeness
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses/reporting for business partners and management

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics etc
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional work experience with planning/forecasting experience desired
  • Strong understanding of basic financial and accounting principles
  • Superior Excel skills with an ability to learn financial tools and systems (Adaptive, BI, etc.)
  • Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to learn new and different topics
  • Detail oriented self-starter with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills; able to walk-through analyses clearly and concisely
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Flexible approach to work and evolving organizational priorities
