We are seeking a highly analytical and technical Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of US GAAP, a passion for data integrity, and the ability to manage sophisticated financial reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & General Ledger

  • Journal Entries: Prepare and record monthly journal entries for various functional areas, ensuring all transactions are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform timely and accurate reconciliations for a broad range of balance sheet accounts.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly flux analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts, providing meaningful commentary on budget-to-actual and period-over-period variances.
  • Process Automation: Continuously evaluate accounting workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within the close cycle.

Compensation & Benefits Accounting

  • Accrual Management: Lead the technical accounting for global compensation, including the calculation and recording of month-end accruals for salaries, bonuses, commissions, and PTO.
  • Accounting Reconciliations: Perform comprehensive reconciliations between third-party payroll provider reports and the General Ledger to ensure accounting accuracy.

Compliance & Audit

  • Audit Support: Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing workpapers and providing technical explanations for financial statement line items.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal control procedures to ensure the safeguarding of assets and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Special Projects: Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting, technical accounting research, and the implementation of new accounting standards as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of professional accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates coming from a mid-to-large corporate environment or a "Big 4" / mid-tier public accounting firm.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or progress toward CPA is highly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with specific experience in accruals, compensation accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills are mandatory (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and the ability to manage and audit complex workbooks).
  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to reconcile disparate data sources and identify root causes of financial variances.

Professional Attributes

  • Meticulous Detail: You have a "zero-defect" mindset when it comes to reconciliations and financial accuracy.
  • Analytical Thinking: You don't just move numbers; you understand the "why" behind the transactions.
  • Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proactive Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in HR, Legal, and Operations.
