About the Role
We're looking for a Finance Manager who sees finance as more than month-end and reporting. We want someone who'll take genuine ownership of the function and bring a process improvement and automation mindset to everything they do.
You'll be joining HRLocker, a fully remote Irish SaaS company with a growing footprint across Ireland. As we bring other Irish companies into the HRLocker business, you'll play a key role in pulling those finance operations together. This adds real variety and strategic exposure beyond a typical single-company finance role.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses

Develop financial models to support business decisions and strategic initiatives

Monitor key financial metrics and present findings to senior management

Accounting & Reporting
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 (Irish/UK GAAP)

Manage month-end and year-end close processes

Work in conjunction with the Group Financial Controller to coordinate with external auditors for annual audits

Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax obligations

Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policies

Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Cash Flow
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity

Oversee banking relationships and manage banking functions

Approve payments input into the corporate bank

Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a small team of finance and accounting professionals

Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and support professional development

Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required)

Experience
3+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles (required)

2+ years in a managerial or supervisory capacity (preferred)

Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting (required)

Industry experience in the SaaS sector (desirable)

Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in accounting software (Xero)

Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting financials to non-finance audiences

High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Familiarity with automation or data tools such as Excel macros, Power BI, or Python (desirable)
