Field Applications Scientist, Central Territory

Classification: FLSA Exempt

Reports to: Manager, Life Science Applications, North America

Location: Albuquerque, Denver, Chicago, Houston, or St Louis

Summary

This hybrid technical and commercial role supports customers using Indica Labs’ HALO, HALO AI, and HALO Link platforms across digital pathology and image analysis. The role combines scientific expertise, customer engagement, and sales support to help life science and research customers successfully implement and use our software. This position is based within Indica Labs’ Central US territory.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance to customers to identify the most suitable software solutions for their research and workflow needs.

Deliver engaging software demonstrations both remotely and on-site.

Manage software trials and proof-of-concept studies to support customer evaluation and adoption.

Support commercial efforts by participating in seminars and tradeshows or giving technical presentations or posters.

Train customers using remote conferencing or on-site visits.

Provide ongoing technical and scientific support to existing customers.

Support the workload of Field Application Scientist team.

Qualify new leads, issue quotes, and report back on quotations and outcomes.

Regularly update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.

Assist in the preparation of sales statistics and reports.

Perform ongoing account management duties for assigned accounts.

Responsible for the appropriate accessing and handling of electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) as outlined by policy and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related field

At least 1 year of laboratory experience (academic or industry)

Authorization to work in the United States (Indica Labs does not sponsor work visas)

Located within 50 miles of a major airport hub

Must reside within the Central US territory (e.g., Albuquerque, Denver, Chicago, Houston, or St. Louis)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Indica Labs’ HALO software

Experience with pathology, digital pathology, histology, microscopy, and image analysis

Previous experience in a customer facing or applications role

Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Basic skills in Information Technology (IT) and network knowledge

Confidence in presenting to small and large scientific audiences

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships

Ability to listen, understand, and respond effectively to customer needs

Comfortable quickly learning new software, with enthusiasm for modern digital and AI-assisted tools and workflows

Location

This position reports to our headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Candidates currently residing within 100 miles of Albuquerque are considered for 100% in-office positions. Candidates currently residing outside of this area are considered for fully remote positions in their home state.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Up to 50% travel, including customer site visits, conferences and company meetings.
