We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Analytics Designer to join our dynamic Healthcare Quality Improvement team. Position Overview
As a Senior Data Analytics Designer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our internal IT information design and investigation teams to execute and maintain data foundation conditions that enable report automation for the arenaflex Healthcare Quality Improvement program. This position is central to our Information and Insights commercialization strategy, working across functional teams to deliver performance insights that matter.
You will join a cross-functional team of data experts, Business Intelligence engineers, system administrators, and data consumers who are all dedicated to delivering actionable intelligence across arenaflex Health. This role offers significant exposure to enterprise-level data projects, healthcare analytics, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on healthcare quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analytics Designer, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights initiatives and projects. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting both long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements. This includes:
- Leading Data Initiatives: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights drives and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards.
- Data Warehousing Excellence: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis expectations.
- Database Development: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects across the organization.
- Data Modeling: Create data staging and preprocessing rules for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- ETL Best Practices: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.
- Data Profiling and Analysis: Perform data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS files.
- Automation Development: Create internal instruments for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and other critical processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver solutions, and ensure alignment across departments.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- SQL Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience in writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts with proven ability to optimize complex queries for performance and efficiency.
- Cloud Data Platform Experience: Experience planning and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Experience with at least one of these platforms is required.
- BI Platform Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace, demonstrating understanding of business impact and ROI considerations.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Travel Availability: Ability to travel up to at least 5% of the time for business purposes, including both in-state and out-of-state travel.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Certification: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data analytics certification.
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Understanding of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts including familiarity with healthcare data standards, medical terminology, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Technical Skills: Additional experience with healthcare-specific data systems, HEDIS reporting, or value-based care analytics.
- Project Management: Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
