Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our Subscriber Operations team within the Data Analysis group. This pivotal role is responsible for the measurement and management of subscriber balances across the arenaflex Streaming portfolio, including arenaflex+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+. As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in supporting ongoing partner forecasting for various business-critical initiatives.

Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our upstream messaging partners to ensure accurate delivery of subscription change messaging—including cost increases, subscriber offers, and new data collection efforts—by identifying which subscribers should receive our legally required notifications. Additionally, you will help identify subscribers impacted by incidents requiring critical and legal remediations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of strategic and operational responsibilities:

• Manage admission and record information requirements related to subscriber messaging initiatives, including cost increases, subscriber offers, and new data collection efforts, as well as incident remediation—ensuring that the right customers receive refunds when required.


• Develop complex queries based on required business logic, sometimes legally binding, to determine accurate partners of subscribers for messaging and/or remediation purposes.


• Communicate business requirements to technical teams while providing concise summaries of technical progress and/or roadblocks to business stakeholders.


• Foster a deep understanding of subscriber balances and the technical infrastructure that underlies subscriber data systems.


• Manage project planning and schedules while overseeing cross-functional delivery to ensure status transparency for significant business events.


• Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance through the development of strong communication processes and operational playbooks.


• Collaborate with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering teams to contribute to the design of robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents.


• Analyze subscriber trends and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the organization.


• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding subscriber communications and data handling.


• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• 3+ years of work experience developing in SQL, particularly in an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processing pipeline environment.


• 3+ years of analytical experience in a professional setting, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities and data interpretation skills.


• Demonstrated experience in delivering technical and/or analytical concepts to broad audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.


• Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for data analysis and modeling.


• Strong knowledge of data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms.


• Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strong written and verbal presentation abilities.


• Academic background in an analytical field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related discipline (Bachelor's degree minimum).


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be strongly preferred:

• Understanding of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling techniques.


• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant analytical field.


• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration platforms.


• Knowledge of streaming industry dynamics and subscription-based business models.


• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.


• Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems and big data technologies.


• Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements in regulated industries.


• Project management certifications or experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
