Position Overview
As a Pharmacist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in executing medical services procedures and driving patient wellness results. You will be responsible for implementing patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services, and driving pharmacy financial performance through strategic initiatives that increase reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes.
This remote position offers the unique opportunity to process prescriptions from a distance while maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical care. You will foster strong relationships with clinical communities in your assigned area and serve as a representative and contact of the organization. Additionally, you will act as an informed authority and resource to other pharmacists and field leaders, sharing your expertise and contributing to the professional development of your colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Programs: Implements direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Treatment Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. Drives the execution of multiple business strategies and projects to ensure business needs are being met.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Drives compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by analyzing, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing changes. Ensures regional Pharmacies comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
- Financial Performance: Drives local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies to company financial goals. Implements and executes patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance.
- Patient Experience Enhancement: Supports efforts on improving patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services such as patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or health services including inoculations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
- Team Leadership and Support: Provides expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Supports staff training experiences and development opportunities. Promotes teamwork and motivates Pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting organization policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Clinical Reviews: Conducts data and clinical reviews and taking necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Reviews drug histories and patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe medication therapy. Provides individualized patient/provider consultation.
- Patient Relationship Building: Through utilization of superior interpersonal skills, wins the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns.
- Program Feedback: Provides feedback concerning the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations.
- Clinical Consultation: Accountable for all inquiries, transactions, and issues which relate directly to patient treatment. Provides clinical consultation and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adheres to guidelines and procedures for all job duties to meet objectives. Complies with company policies and procedures including all HIPAA regulations/guidelines. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Additional Duties: Performs other work consistent with the job responsibilities in this document as assigned by management.
Essential Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Pharmacist license as permitted by the appropriate state licensing authority. You must maintain current licensure and meet all continuing education requirements as mandated by state boards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Experience advancing colleagues to research and resolve issues. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Confidentiality: Experience working with sensitive and confidential information. Must demonstrate unwavering commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
- Flexibility: Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends as required by business needs.
- Time Management: Experience utilizing time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple tasks with varying completion dates.
- Independent Work: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
- Customer Service: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Travel Capability: Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-State Licensure: Ability to obtain other state pharmacy licenses if required. Willingness to pursue licensure in multiple states to expand service coverage.
- Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance plans and reimbursement procedures. Understanding of various payer structures and billing processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of computer operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus platforms.
- Microsoft Excel: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, modifying, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show).
- Microsoft Word: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, formatting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, fix, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities).
