In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the seamless delivery of our services to patients, referral sources, and employees.

  • *Overview and Responsibilities**

We are looking for a customer-focused individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional support to our patients and customers. As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing accurate and timely information to ensure a positive experience. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and fax communication
  • Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts, conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
  • Conducting patient satisfaction calls and acting as a patient advocate to resolve questions or concerns
  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
  • Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
  • Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and processing paperwork
  • Obtaining authorization and qualification documentation
  • Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
  • Processing new orders, responding to questions, resolving issues, or forwarding to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction
  • Providing product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
  • Working extensively with eIntake proprietary system
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • *Qualifications and Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
  • Strong customer service background
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This role requires:

  • Lifting of 10lbs
  • Sitting, walking, standing, talking, or listening for extensive hours
  • Close vision to small print on computer and/or paperwork
  • Extensive hours working on the computer
