We foster a collaborative environment where your analytical expertise will directly influence strategic decisions that affect millions of patients and providers across the nation.
The Role: Healthcare Analytics Specialist – Specialty Network Development
This is a remote part-time position that offers flexibility while allowing you to make a significant impact. We're looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities to join our specialty network development team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in assessing, developing, and optimizing specialty care networks that create higher quality and lower cost healthcare delivery solutions.
You'll partner with OptumCare Care Delivery Organizations (CDOs) to understand their existing specialty network needs and identify market opportunities that can enhance network performance. Your work will involve market discovery interviews, comprehensive opportunity and gap analysis, and delivering actionable recommendations that drive measurable improvements in healthcare delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Healthcare Analytics Specialist at arenaflex, your responsibilities will span multiple dimensions of specialty network development:
- Specialty Network Adequacy and Accessibility Assessments – You'll evaluate existing specialty networks to ensure they meet patient needs in terms of geographic accessibility, wait times, and service availability. This involves analyzing referral patterns, patient flow data, and identifying gaps in care delivery.
- Specialty Supply and Demand Opportunity Assessments – Conduct thorough market analyses to identify imbalances between specialty care supply and patient demand. Your insights will help optimize resource allocation and improve patient access to specialized services.
- Provider Cost Efficiency and Quality Evaluations – Develop sophisticated analytical models to assess provider performance, comparing cost efficiency against quality metrics. You'll identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining or improving care quality standards.
- Care Delivery Organization Specialty Referral Optimizations – Work with CDOs to analyze referral patterns and develop strategies that improve referral efficiency, reduce unnecessary procedures, and ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.
- Employ vs. Partner Opportunity Assessments – Evaluate strategic decisions around whether to employ specialists directly or develop partnership arrangements. Your analysis will inform major capital allocation and network composition decisions.
- Employed Specialist Financial Review Assessments – Conduct financial analyses of employed specialist programs, assessing profitability, productivity, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Specialty Group Acquisition Synergy Assessments – Support due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions by analyzing financial synergies, operational integration opportunities, and strategic fit.

To succeed in this role, you'll need a unique combination of analytical prowess, healthcare industry knowledge, and strategic thinking capabilities. Here's what we're seeking:
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background – A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, Public Health, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree is highly preferred and will be given special consideration.
- Healthcare Industry Experience – Demonstrated experience working within the healthcare industry, with familiarity of specialty care delivery models, provider compensation structures, and network adequacy requirements.

- Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to executive audiences in a clear, compelling manner.
- Technical Proficiency – Advanced Excel skills are essential. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and familiarity with SQL or other database query languages is preferred.

- Knowledge of value-based care models and population health management
- Previous work with specialty networks, physician practice management, or healthcare private equity
