As a Principal Engineer - Data Analytics & Science, you'll be responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing and implementing data analysis and reporting solutions that drive business growth and success. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. • *Key Responsibilities**

• Lead and coach a team of engineers in developing and implementing data analysis and reporting solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders
• Develop and maintain modern software development practices through code reviews and design audits
• Manage the design and implementation of data systems, including data warehousing, ETL, and data visualization
• Grow "top-tier" engineering for our services by ensuring that services and components are modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, easily observable, and reusable
• Improve test coverage for services; coordinate and execute integration tests; and resolve trouble spots
• Ensure testability, scalability/observability, reliability, and effectiveness; and understand when code is fit to be shared and deployed
• Focus on business needs through an data-driven approach
• Investigate and enhance automation, reliability, and monitoring for deployed items
• Set the strategic vision for data analysis and reporting, aligning with organizational objectives
• Provide leadership in directing the overall direction of data analysis technical drives
• Plan, develop, and enhance complex data models and reporting designs
• Drive the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data analysis and reporting designs
• Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of data products and reporting solutions by collaborating with stages, data design, and service teams
• Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for data analysis, incorporating advancements and industry trends
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, data engineers, platform architects, and IT experts, to develop comprehensive data solutions
• Foster a collaborative environment that enables data sharing and expertise development
• Establish and authorize data quality guidelines and best practices
• Carry out processes for data approval, cleansing, and precision
• Assess and select suitable data analysis and reporting tools to address business needs
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to create and maintain documentation for data analysis processes, reporting designs, and data models
• Monitor the performance of data analysis and reporting systems; and provide technical leadership to drive stability and scalability of data products and reporting solutions
• Carry out measures to enhance performance and investigate issues
• Provide critical insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making at the organizational level
• Recommend system upgrades to support business growth and advancing technology requirements
• Utilize arenaflex services, such as arenaflex SQL DW (Neural connection), ADLS, Sky blue Event Hub, Universe, Databricks, Delta-Lake to improve and accelerate delivery of our data products and services
• Execute large data and NoSQL solutions by creating adaptable data handling stages to drive high-value insights to the organization

• *Requirements**

• Demonstrated experience with at least 15+ years of active involvement in data analysis and reporting jobs
• 5+ years' experience in leadership or senior roles, exhibiting the ability to successfully guide and lead a team
• 5+ years' experience working with Cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Sky blue Databricks, Flash, Sky blue Neurotransmitter, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data innovations
• Exhibited advanced capability in data analysis tools, languages, ML, and systems (e.g., Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R)
• Capability in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI or similar tools to effectively convey insights
• Demonstrated ability in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Sky blue or Google Cloud, to design and implement scalable and efficient data analysis solutions
• In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse engineering principles, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for effective and adaptable data management
• High-level SQL skills. Strong understanding of social data sets and business data capacity to write complex SQL queries against various data sources
• Experience managing high-volume and high-speed data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis
• Experience in shaping the strategic vision for data analysis and reporting drives within an organization
• Successful management of data analysis projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
• Shown ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and execute industry best practices
• Shown ability to take ownership and accountability of critical issues and close them to resolution
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Science or related technical discipline
• Significant industry certifications are a plus
• Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain
