Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically gifted professional to join arenaflex as an Information Researcher – Real World Evidence (RWE). In this critical role, you will be responsible for generating Real World Evidence through advanced research methodologies and innovative approaches within the clinical trials space. You will serve as an integral member of our Scientific Issues team, working alongside cross-functional colleagues to deliver high-impact insights that drive both internal and external decision-making through innovative data science and technology solutions.

This position offers the flexibility of a part-time remote work arrangement, allowing you to contribute to meaningful healthcare research while maintaining a balanced professional and personal life. You will report directly to the Chief of Clinical Data Science and will play a pivotal role in leading sophisticated data analyses to address fundamental business questions within the healthcare and biopharmaceutical sectors.

Key Responsibilities


As an Information Researcher – Real World Evidence at arenaflex, you will undertake a variety of impactful responsibilities that include but are not limited to:


  • Data Mining and Preparation: Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient companions from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. You will analyze and interpret results while contributing to the development of overall analysis strategies that align with project objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources that support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. This includes research on unmet needs, safe and effective treatments in specific disease states, treatment patterns, healthcare financial burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.

  • Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into a centralized data lake infrastructure for future analysis and broader team utilization, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across the organization.

  • Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to examine RWE/Real World Data (RWD) to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes, employing advanced statistical methodologies.

  • Capability Development: Support the development of real data, analysis, and platform capabilities by applying advanced analytics and tools to answer scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations.

  • Research Collaboration: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and practical relevance.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, thorough, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations, maintaining the highest standards of analytical excellence.

  • Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for both internal and external use, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Vendor Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data provider vendors and drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions and partnership opportunities.

Essential Qualifications


To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:


  • Technical Proficiency: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL. Strong coding skills are essential for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and analytical pipeline development.

  • Statistical Expertise: Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses within the context of epidemiology and observational research using healthcare data. Familiarity with advanced statistical methodologies is required.

  • Statistical Methods Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, classification and regression, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.

  • Big Data Handling: Proven experience processing large datasets from multiple data sources, with the ability to manage data volume, velocity, and variety effectively.

  • Healthcare Data Compliance: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with strict adherence to privacy regulations and data security protocols.

  • Business Intelligence Tools: Proficiency in at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI visualization tools for data storytelling and insight communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare Data Expertise: Proficiency in EMR/Health IT systems, disease libraries, and insurance claims databases, with a deep understanding of healthcare data ecosystems.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).

  • Alternative Data Sources: Experience managing alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.

  • Advanced Statistical Skills: Experience with trial design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.

  • Continuous Learning: A solid understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques, coupled with the ability to self-learn and stay current with emerging technical and non-technical skills.
