What You'll Do
As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will serve as a trusted advisor on analysis and modeling techniques, selecting the best approaches for both structured and unstructured, complex data sets. You will develop custom analysis models that generate insights creating significant value for our customers while opening competitive advantages for our organization.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Advanced Analytics: Consult on analysis and modeling techniques, selecting the best fit for structured and unstructured, complex data, and developing custom analysis models to generate insights that drive value for our customers and unlock competitive advantage for our organization
- Data Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with our talented data engineering team to gather the right information from our diverse sources, enabling you to implement advanced statistical techniques and design interventions that improve how our business performs
- Exploratory Research: Conduct exploratory research involving hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and statistical analysis (predictive and/or prescriptive) to uncover hidden opportunities
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate challenging retail business problems into cutting-edge data science solutions that deliver real results
- Performance Monitoring: Create processes and tools that monitor, analyze, and continuously improve model performance and data accuracy, ensuring our insights remain reliable and actionable

The ideal candidate will bring:
- Full-Stack Data Science Expertise: A proven ability to develop, enhance, and scale models for production environments, taking solutions from concept to deployment
- Analytical Thinking: The ability to connect the "how" and "why," using your deep knowledge of data science theories and techniques to derive the best approach that is fit-for-purpose
- Statistical Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and advanced modeling techniques including SVM, Random Forest, Bayesian inference, graph models, NLP, Computer Vision, and neural networks
- Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from massive datasets, including Python, R, and SQL
- Database Expertise: Experience with database technologies and distributed datastores including SQL and NoSQL systems
- Technology Stack Knowledge: Familiarity with Spark, Hive, TensorFlow, and other big data processing frameworks
- Communication Skills: The ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 2 years of experience in analytics or a related field; OR
- Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR
- 4 years of experience in analytics or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum requirements, we prefer candidates with:
- Advanced degrees in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics
- Experience with machine learning, AI, and optimization models
- Successful completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
- Experience with open-source frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and LightGBM
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain analytics
- Published research or contributions to open-source data science projects
