As an Experienced Data Entry Clerk (FT), you'll be responsible for:

  • Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or other digital tools
  • Typing in data provided directly from customers or agencies, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, using MS Office Word and Excel
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Updating existing data, retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested, and performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it's not lost or misplaced

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a strong track record of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware, including keyboards, data recorders, and digital databases
  • Basic understanding of databases and data management principles
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, and customer service skills
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers are strongly preferred, but not required
